Jared Leto revealed to the world the first footage of him as Michael Morbius, the Living Vampire. And it is…nothin’ special. It’s a cool little piece of video, with Leto standing still while people rush past him at exaggerated speed. But he doesn’t look particularly vampirish in the feed. He looks like Jared Leto in a hoodie. This is in keeping with other photographs he has shared from the set, photographs that reveal a whole lotta nothing. “Because no one else will walk this path…this place of shadows, where we do what must be done, no matter the cost,” Leto wrote on his Instagram page. Okay, Jared, sure. You’re excited. That’s great. And I do consider you to be the perfect casting choice for the role. But howzabout you show us a pic of you in full Morbius make-up?
Disney bought 20th Century Fox, not Sony, so it isn’t likely we’ll ever see Spider-Man showing up in a Morbius movie, and that’s probably for the best. I’m hoping they make it a real Horror film and not a “comic book” action movie. I loved VENOM passionately, but a movie about a vampire is going to need to show some blood being spilled. A PG-13 rating cannot help the success of the movie.
