Live Free or Twihard

Don’t worry guys, Live Free or Twihard isn’t some new crazy Twilight parody mashup (although that might be slightly entertaining). In fact, it’s an upcoming episode of Supernatural that pokes fun at the Twilight franchise and other teen vampires in entertainment. Yes! Sam and Dean mocking Twilight – those boys just got sexier (who knew THAT was possible).

Live Free or Twi-Hard Synopsis:
After a group of young girls go missing, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) realize that a group of vampires have taken up residence in the small town. After a fight with two of the blood-suckers, Dean is bitten and turns into a vampire. Samuel (guest star Mitch Pileggi) tells Dean he can change him back, but he’d have to get the blood of the vampire who turned him. Dean infiltrates the nest and runs into the Alpha. Jan Eliasburg directed the episode written by Brett Matthews.

This past summer at San Diego Comic-Con, Jensen Ackles made countless fans cheer with joy when he said that Sam and Dean “will be killing some vampires properly this year. Cut this pasty, waify shit out!” And we’ll finally get to see that in Live Free or Twi-Hard, which airs on October 22.

Supernatural exec Sera Gamble also spoke on the upcoming episode, claiming that Live Free or Twi-Hard will not offend fans of The Vampire Diaries.

“I don’t think there’s currently a mention [of The Vampire Diaries] in the episode,” said Gamble. “But part of the thing is finding a balance between [showing] a poster from the actual show and having Sam and Dean really speak their minds. We don’t want to offend.”

The upcoming episode will also feature a vampire named Robert, in reference to Twilight’s Robert Pattinson. But, Gamble insisted that the targets of the Winchester brothers’ “disparaging” remarks will be “slightly fictionalized”.

The producer also pointed out that she is a fan of both the Twilight films and The Vampire Diaries.

“I think The Vampire Diaries is a really good show,” she admitted. “And I’ve seen all [of] the Twilight movies. I’m certainly not coming at this from a place of feeling superior to them. I have great respect.”

Even if there isn’t some serious Twilight-bashing going down, knowing Sam and Dean this episode is going to rock all things awesome.
