Moonlight Online: The MMORPG For Twilight Fans?

For you gamers out there that are sick of all those lame vampire games out there, fear not, IGG is currently working on Moonlight Online, a big 3D MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) that’s set in a world full of vampires… and werewolves. But good news, it’s vampires vs. werewolves. So you can go wild and kill all the furry beasties you want! Unless you like both vampires and werewolves, then well, you’re stuck choosing one over the other.

According to the press release:

“A massive 3D MMORPG that will take advantage of a cutting-edge game engine, Moonlight Online will allow gamers to show off their creativity using its unique features. Players will be able to choose from an impressive range of superpower abilities. The demolition and creation of entire worlds will lie in gamers’ hands, giving Moonlight Online an epic scope that hinges on their every decision and action.

Moonlight Online will bestow upon characters gravity-defying abilities such as flight, scaling vertical cliffs, or leaping from one skyscraper to another. Devastating wars between Vampires and Werewolves will lend the game a haunting and surreal feel, and an entire apocalyptic universe will be ripe for exploration. One feature in the game that strategy enthusiasts will find intriguing will be the power to build and destroy empires among the war-torn worlds, helping to make Moonlight Online a versatile game that should appeal to a wide variety of gamers.”

In the months ahead, IGG will reveal more details and offer sneak peeks into the supernatural universe of Moonlight Online, so we’ll just have to wait and see what goodies they’ll bring us leech lovers.

Rumor is that Moonlight Online is aimed at all the hardcore Twilight fans. That may or may not be true, but you do get to control a super-powered flying vampire, a vampire that hate werewolves – so it’s somewhat similar to Twilight. But then that’s pretty much the storyline to every vampire/werewolf movie and book.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  4. twilight people do not ruin this damn game….just the REAL fans of werewolves and vampires “the orginal fans” before twilight can play….twilight sucks in soooo many ways…anyways don’t ruin this game with your speaking of being edward or jacob in this game cause this will be my only release on killing all the vampires :)

        1. Hi, Vance. Urm im a vampire and i do sparkle so perhaps there are 2 kinds of vampires…the traditional ones and the ….uh….modern ones? Idk what you would cal them…adapted vampires? Huh..thats confusing….but hey, who am I to label? and i like it wen I sparkle…makes me rettier than before :”]

          1. sorry but that argument is invalid. the twilight “vampire” isnt a vampire. just a supernatural creature the author had the gull to call a vampire. using that logic i could make something completely up like, a person that has hair growing on their back and is abnormally strong is a vampire. thats not a vampire, its just something i made up. so please refrain from comparing the twilight monstrosity to a real vampire.

  5. no your vampier is not going to sparkel and you can also play as humans and demons i think. it will be realesed at the end of 2010.

  6. I really hope it isn't derived from Twilight. The fad is dying.

    If it isn't Twilight-ish, I'm being a werewolf.

  7. NOT A TWILIGHT VAMPIRE!!! A Mythology true vampire. One with lots of blood, not sparkling. One that fears stakes and garlic, not fire and all that bullshit.

  8. Well actually, dismemberment was one of the methods described for “killing” a vampire, Stephenie Meyer included this but chose not to include other methods, she wanted to pull away from the whole gothic vampire crap with stakes and garlic to give them a more modern feel so they could adapt and have more personality than the traditional dracula type character.
Vampyr roughly translates as “blood drinker” which is what all vampires do in Twilight, yes it seems a little girly with all the sparkling, but they still fear the sunlight for risk of being exposed for what they are. They may not burn in the sunlight, although this is what tradtional vampires would have done, most beliefs of vampires traits are derived from legends mixed with Hollywood.
Its all based on point of view really, the changes from the traditional vampires to the ones in Twilight are only minor, instead of burning they sparkle which sounds gay yes, but in the book its described differently and is more complex than that. garlic and crosses have no effect, but everything else is pretty much the same.
I like the traditional vampires too, but these more modern version of vampires are refreshing and have so much more personality than the traditional gothic types.

    1. If we talk about refreshing types, I prefer emo vampires like Anne Rice’s, or The Masquerade vampire type. Twilight=aimed for 13 year old girls.
