More Breaking Dawn News: The Denali Coven Is Cast!

Excellent news Twilight fans! It was recently announced that the entire Denali coven has been cast for Breaking Dawn!

The Denali Coven is a vampire coven comprising of Irina, Kate, Garrett, Carmen, Eleazar and Tanya. The Denalis are among the few vegetarian vampires in the world, along with the Cullens. They are very close to the Cullens, being some of the Cullens’ most loyal allies and considering themselves their extended family. The Denali Coven is located in Denali, Alaska so that they can live alongside humans without too much trouble.

I mentioned before that “Lost” star Maggie Grace had been cast as Irina, the trouble-maker within the Denali coven. The actors that have been cast as Eleazar, Carmen, Tanya and Kate aren’t as well known as Grace, but once Breaking Dawn hits theaters they are sure to explode into fame, just like the rest of the Twilight cast.

MyAnna Buring, who best known for her role in “The Descent,” has been cast as Tanya, a vampire who once had a crush on Edward Cullen, but was rejected by him. Casey LaBow, who played as Candy in Ashley Greene’s “Skateland,” has been cast as Kate, a vampire with the power to produce an electric current over her skin. She is also the vamp who befriends Bella and helps her understand her own powers.

The two other vampires in the Denali coven, Eleazar and his companion Carmen, will be played by Christian Camargo and Mia Maestro. Eleazar was a former Volturi guard and has the ability to identify the special abilities of other vampires. While Carmen was the first one of the witnesses to accept Renesmee, despite her family’s outrage. Mia is best known for her role as Nadia Santos in “Alias” and Christian played Rudy Cooper, a serial killer in the first season of “Dexter.”

Do you think that these actors look like the vampires they are cast as? Or do you wish they had picked someone else for these roles? Who would you choose?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
