It occurs to me that, as much content as I provide for this website, I don’t too often discuss my own views regarding vampires. I never hesitate to share opinions on everything else, and I have touched on the subject before on more than one occasion, but I’ve never gone into any great detail regarding my own views. I will do so now because it will come into play in a follow-up post, concerning a conversation I had recently with vampire hunter Eric Streit, who has put forward his own theories regarding vampires. (Hear all about them here.)
I suggested Eric read VAMPIRES: THE OCCULT TRUTH by Konstantinos, because the author’s opinions therein mirror my own. I’m not in 100% agreement with Konstantinos; specifically I have doubts regarding his assertions that human beings can become vampires. Like him, though, I do believe vampires exist. I just don’t think they’re all that similar to what we’re familiar with from the movies. A human being sporting fangs? That’s a regular (i.e. living and breathing) human with a vampire fetish and enough money to afford good dental implants. Vampires as they truly exist are beings of another plane, Konstantinos believes, and I believe. What are commonly called “psychic vampires”, but this too is misleading, as there are humans who call themselves psychic vampires who claim to be able to syphon life energy from other humans. They might be (though I must remain skeptical) but they aren’t what I’m talking about when I talk about psychic vampires. I mean beings, intelligences, that possess bodies composed of psychic or spiritual energy, not existing on the physical plane at all. It is these beings that influenced, along with numerous other sources, the development of the vampire Myth as it exists today. That’s my theory, anyway, based on all the evidence I’ve studied.
