Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”) stars in this provocative new drama as one of the world’s most iconic characters.

It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning hit “Downton Abbey” comes “Dracula,” a twisted, sophisticated and sexy take on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, proving that some stories never die. One-hour drama.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  1. I think it looks pretty good and I will watch it when it comes out. But do they keep playing with the story of Dracula and changing things? Why not come out with a Dracula movie or series that’s ACTUALLY FAITHFULL to Bram Stoker’s book??

  2. I’m disappointed that they went out of their way to say they made him “realistic” by letting him drink alcohol and took away his shapeshifting and power to control the weather. Add the whining and brooding and now they managed to homogenize Dracula into every other vampire currently out there…

  3. hmmmm, not sure how I like it yet, antenna willing I will watch the first episode to find out. where have I seen mina before? she is very familiar.

  4. I like traditional as well BUT come on Vampires must evolve to survive as humans had too and all the other animals. Everything must Evolve this is true. The only issue I had was with his idea of what I understood: Vampires Evolving from Humans but that is just not something I can grasp. Not from what I know of them…

  5. I really like the good old-fashioned “the vampire has no feelings it wants to eat us” story, same with the good old-fashioned “the werewolf has no feelings it wants to eat us” story.
Honestly, I would like for that to come back. Truly I would.

  6. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a handsome actor who seems to be saddled with yet another round of mediocrely attractive actresses as leading ladies.

  7. Why would a vampire need electricity if he has the ability to see in the dark? Hello!!!!

They admit that this is simply a up-to-date version of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Can’t Hollywood come up with something new? Why do they keep doing remakes? You want a fresh look at vampires, read the book, ‘Faith of a Vampire’. At least it has an original story. I give Dracula one season before it’s canceled.

    Don’t mess with the classics!
