New Axe-tacular Poster for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Released

Twentieth Century Fox has released a new international poster for director Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which is based on the bestselling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, who also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film. The latest movie poster shows off Abe and his legendary axe, the axe he now uses to dominate evil vampires.

Coming to theaters on June 22nd, the supernatural thriller stars Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson, Robin McLeavy, Alan Tudyk and Rufus Sewell.

In the film, when young Lincoln learns his mother was murdered by a vampire, he writes in his journal, “henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall become a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose…” Gifted with his legendary height, strength, and skill with an axe, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House. While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. Until now.

I am really looking forward to this film. I absolutely loved Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel and can’t wait to see his vision on screen. If you haven’t read the book yet I highly suggest doing so while you wait for the release of the movie. The book is so well-written and excellently researched that I got to the point where I almost thought for a second that Abraham Lincoln really was a vampire hunter.

Who here is going to give this movie a watch on June 22? Have any of you read the book? If so, what did you think?
