New Love Interest for Sookie Added to True Blood Season 6 Cast

Season 6 of HBO’s hit show True Blood won’t be here until summer 2013, but casting is already underway and we’ve got the dish! Apparently Bill, Eric and Alcide weren’t enough for Sookie Stackhouse, because according to reports, there’s a new love interest coming to Bon Temps.

True Blood has tapped English actor Rob Kazinsky to join the Season 6 cast as a series regular.

Kazinsky, whose biggest TV credit is the British soap opera EastEnders, will play Ben, a highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie – and the feeling is said to be mutual. Ben will be helping Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders. However, in spite of his charm Ben is an extremely dangerous individual, with a dark, violent flavor to his personality.

Kazinsky marks True Blood‘s second big Season 6 hire. As previously reported, acting vet Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has also been signed onto the show as a series regular in the role of Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with a deep and dark connection to Sookie and Jason.

True Blood‘s sixth season is slated to premiere in June, however, with the birth of Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer’s twins, it’s possible the show may be delayed (they are already cutting a couple of episodes from the season).

What do you think about this new fae character? Are you happy about yet another love interest? Let us know in a comment below.
