Season 5 of HBO’s hit show True Blood is only three short weeks away, and HBO knows that “Waiting Sucks” so they have released yet another promo to get us excited for the upcoming season. However, this latest promo, which has no new footage, doesn’t really get me excited, it just bums me out. Check out the latest True Blood clip, titled “Don’t Cry, It’s Back,” and see why it’s depressing fans.
Yeah, it’s totally not a happy promo video. It’s just a long clip of people crying. You’ve got Eric, Pam, Bill, Sookie, Russell, Tara, Lafayette, Debbie, Terry, Franklin, Arlene and Jessica, all in tears. I didn’t realize how many people cried in True Blood until this little video. I have to admit, this may be my least favorite of all the promo videos thus far. But I do get what they were doing, they were keeping the “Don’t Cry, It’s Back” tag line going.
On that note, in case you missed it, here is the “Don’t Cry, It’s Back” poster that HBO released a little while back:
And if you’re hungry for something with more than bloody tears, here is the official True Blood Season 5 trailer that shows off new footage of the upcoming season.
I am really looking forward to this season. I am excited to see the new characters and all the drama they bring with them. Hopefully there isn’t a billion random storylines at once, and we at least have one main plot. I love new characters, but I don’t love messy story telling.
The 12-episode fifth season of True Blood will kick off Sunday, June 10th, at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). For more goodies to tide you over until then visit True Blood on HBO.com and “like” True Blood on Facebook.
