New True Blood Teasers Warn That You Can’t Escape Your Past

More True Blood goodies to share! HBO recently released three new teasers for Season 5 of True Blood, which is set to return this summer. The videos don’t show any of the actual stars of the show or any new upcoming scenes, but instead feature lines from previous episodes while the camera pans around three well-known locations. The teasers focus on the idea of unfinished business set to come back – and as any True Blood fan can say, there is a LOT of unfinished business and unanswered questions left by previous seasons.

The first teaser for the upcoming season which came out a while back (see here) told us that “nothing stays buried forever,” and these new “Echoes of the Past” teasers build on that, ending with the line “You can’t escape your past.” I think HBO is making it clear that past dramas are coming back to bite everyone on the ass this coming season. Most are assuming that Russell, the one-time vampire king of Mississippi gone rogue, will be returning. It’s a safe assumption given how the last season ended with the hint that he had escaped, plus all of these “buried” and “you can’t escape your past” teasers just further confirm the theory. However, given the huge list of newbies coming to season 5, and the fact that True Blood juggles loads of characters and stories at once, Russell won’t be the only one Bon Temps has to worry about.

Check out the three teasers below, taking place in Fangtasia, Bill’s house and Sookie’s house.

Do you think these teasers hint at what past troubles are coming back? What are your theories for season 5? Personally, I hope that that they do actually answer a few questions this year. Also, I would LOVE it if they didn’t have a billion plot lines at once, just a couple well-done and important ones.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
