New Vampire Movie with Abigail Breslin: ‘Innocence’

Now, okay, part of you is probably saying “Yay, a new vampire movie!” while the other part is like, “Wait, who?” Well, no worries, trust me, you know who Abigail Breslin. She’s the cute little chick from Zombieland, remember? Con Artist Chick, of the shortness? Anyway, now she’s starring in ‘Innocence’, a new vampire movie that is probably going to be kind of girly, seeing as how it takes place in a private school. The plot follows a new student in a private school; she uncovers this big secret… dun dun dun: The cool girls are vampires! Teen vampire movies are cool, and personally, I’m hoping for romance, action, and of course, drama, drama, drama.

Here’s more of the scoop about the new movie from ScreenJunkies:

Like a ripped, shirtless teen transforming into a vampire after a bite, the movie industry has been transformed into something awful by Twilight. Everything’s gone Twilight, from Highlander to dragons for chrissake, and it seems like the new genre of emotional teen vampire movies keeps swooping along. The latest victim is Abigail Breslin (Zombieland), who stars in director Hilary Brougher’s Innocence.

Beslin, who’s going from one fad monster to the next, plays an “innocent” (the title) girl who discovers her prep school is home to vampires. So change the book author from Stephanie Meyer to Jane Mendelsohn, the setting from public school to private school, Twitchin’ Stewart to Breslin and you’ve got the Wendy’s to Twilight‘s McDonald’s. Though Julianne Moore (The Kids Are All Right) is Breslin’s co-star, and I doubt her character will be asking if you want to supersize your blood order. (ComingSoon)

That’s okay, guys, no need to freak. Just lay back and let vampires get popular and be badass. Personally, I can’t wait for the Buffy reboot, although, without Sarah Michelle Gellar, it’s a bit of a bleak landscape of hope. ‘Innocence’ is going to be pretty interesting, but to be honest, there’s a lot of similarity between Innocent and the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz; fashionable private school vampires in New York, young girl, new to the school, learning about secret vampire organization. Sounds pretty interesting, maybe this film is inspired by Blue Bloods…? Actually it’s inspired by another novel, that’s a tad similar. And Julianne Moore, –I’m hoping she gets to be a vampire. She’d make a fab fanger. If not, I’m thinking Cruz might have grounds for a lawsuit. By the way, I love this pic; her hair extensions make no apologies for themselves. It almost looks like she’s resting on the half-devoured body of a wookie.
