New Vampires and Break Ups Coming to The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries is still on winter hiatus, and unfortunately, it won’t return until January 5, 2012. Lame! Luckily, the CW has been dishing out loads of hints and teasers on what’s to come, as well as an action-packed preview of the next episode titled The New Deal (see below). It looks like the rest of the season will be deadly and drama-filled!

According to EW, Caroline will break up with Tyler (which we already knew) and enter into a deep depression, which is made worse by her birthday. Vampire Diaries producer Julie Plec said that Caroline will be celebrating her 18th birthday in an upcoming episode, and that it will remind her that she isn’t aging anymore, which gives her a big reality check on her future as a vampire. Expect lots of angsty vampire drama from Caroline. Elena, Matt and Bonnie will try to cheer her up by throwing an “unconventional” birthday bash, but of course, it all goes to hell.

On a happier note, we’re meeting two more Original vampires! According to reports, they will be season regulars, so we won’t just be seeing them in a minute-long flashback. Yay!

British actor Caspar Zafer and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic have been casted to play the recurring roles of Finn and Kol, respectively. Both brothers have a bone to pick with Klaus, especially since they’ve been locked up in the coffins Klaus has been dragging around for so long. I’m super excited about these two! I can’t wait to see them clash with Klaus!

Now for the promo video for the next episode, The New Deal, which airs January 5, 2012:

What the hell is Jeremy doing? And what does Klaus have planned for the gang? I can’t wait! What about you? You excited about what’s to come on The Vampire Diaries?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
