News Roundup: JAKOB’S WIFE and THE RISE

There’s a new vampire flick entitled JAKOB’S WIFE starring genre superstars Barbara Crampton and Larry Fessenden (the latter better known for his directorial efforts than his numerous onscreen appearances) and will release on VOD and in (some) theaters on April 16th. Here’s hoping one of those “select” theaters is within my basic geographical location. Given the chance I’ll for sure check this one out.

HEAVY METAL magazine will be printing the prequel comic to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD by George Cameron Romero, son of George Romero. The comic is called THE RISE and will feature artwork by Diego Yapur. Check out some of that artwork here.

THE RISE will be available on April 7th. The Spiel: “NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD changed popular culture forever, and now the son of legendary film director George A. Romero tells the story before the worst night on Earth. In THE RISE, learn about the death, destruction, and tragedy that led to the birth of the modern zombie in this prologue horror saga to the most significant and influential horror film franchise in history! THE RISE is a prologue to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD that follows a desperate scientist in pursuit of the key missing ingredient in a mysterious experiment, leading him down a dangerous path.”
