Nickelodeon’s Fred Returns in ‘Night of the Living Fred’

Remember Fred? The kid with the annoyingly high-pitched cringe-worthy voice? Yeah, he’s back with a new movie, one with (maybe) vampires. Oh boy…

Internet sensation Lucas Cruikshank is returning to TV as Fred Figglehorn in a brand-new TV movie, Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred, premiering Saturday, October 22, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred stars Cruikshank, of course, in the famous role of Fred. The film also features Modern Family’s Ariel Winter as Talia, WWE’s John Cena as Fred’s dad and Victorious’ Daniella Monet as Bertha. The movie follows Fred after he discovers that his favorite music teacher has been replaced by a new instructor, Mr. Devlin (Seth Morris). This news triggers a spaz attack from Fred. But things go from bad to worse when he finds out that Kevin (Jake Weary), his arch enemy, is Mr. Devlin’s star pupil. Oh noes! Just when Fred thinks his situation couldn’t get any worse, Mr. Devlin moves next door and begins dating his mom. After seeing his new neighbor bury something in his backyard, it dawns on Fred that Mr. Devlin must be a vampire! Fred’s new mission is to convince everyone else of Devlin’s true identity.

So, I willingly admit that I love those cheesy Disney and Nickelodeon shows. I may be adult, but I watch those channels more that any others because I love cartoons and I love those silly shows. But Fred, oh no, I do not love him. I may love all the other ridiculousness found on Nickelodeon, but Fred is one I wish they had never brought on. Not for me, so I’ll be passing on this new movie, even if it does have maybe vampires in it.

What about you? Will any of you check this one out?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
