Nicolas Cage will be a Malignant Dracula

Things are looking promising that we will get the real Nicolas Cage and not his evil untalented doppelganger starring as Count Dracula in the forthcoming film RENFIELD. Just listen to some of his words concerning the project: “I want it to pop in a unique way from how we’ve seen it [the character] played. So I’m thinking to really focus on the movement of the character. You know, I saw Malignant and I thought what she did with those moves—and even Ringu with Sadako…I want to look at what we can explore with this movement and voice. What makes it [the project] super fun is that it’s a comedy. And when you get that tone right—comedy and horror—like American Werewolf in London, it’s a blast. It’s got to be a bulls-eye. But that’s what I’m looking for, something new to bring to the character, and also that perfect tone of comedy and horror.”

That sure sounds like the real Nic Cage talking. MALIGNANT? AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON? Those are fine films to be looking to as inspiration. I am officially excited for RENFIELD. The film has no release date at this time, but should be out sometime in 2023, hopefully in theaters where it belongs.
