But…there is already a sequel to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. It was called DAWN OF THE DEAD. Actually there are several sequels, all created by George Romero himself. Then there was RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, which was an unofficial sequel. So what’s with this NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD II stuff? Sounds like somebody just cashing-in on the fact that the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is in the public domain and is making a “part two” just because they legally can. Cha-ching. That’s what it sounds like. Only this new movie, currently in development, will reunite actors Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, and Jarlath Conroy, who appeared together in DAY OF THE DEAD.
So it gets even more confusing. Is this supposed to be a sequel to DAY OF THE DEAD instead? Will those three be playing the same characters they portrayed in Romero’s classic? Or will they be in entirely different roles? Marcus Slabine is the writer-slash-director of this one, and Art the Clown himself, David Howard Thornton of TERRIFIER fame, appears as a zombie (pictured). So there are some credentials attached to the project. Still, the title? I’m gonna have to stick with my initial impression. It’s a cash grab.
More importantly, how has the pictured zombie’s pants stayed up with a chunk of the waistband missing?
I wondered about that as well.
