Now Available on Xbox 360 ‘The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile’

There’s a new Xbox Live Arcade game out that’s making headlines on nearly every gamer site out there – The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, the sequel to James Silva’s 2009 indie hit The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai. I don’t have a 360 (and never will) but according to all of the amazing reviews this game is packed full of robots, vampires, zombies, gratuitous violence and blood, lots and lots of blood. Badass!

The first Dishwasher was the winner of Microsoft’s Dream-Build-Play contest, earning creator James Silva $10,000 and an Xbox Live Arcade publishing contract. Thanks to its massive success, The Dishwasher is back in Vampire Smile, a significantly more polished sequel Silva says takes the formula from the original title and refines it. According to their official website, “Vampire Smile takes the series’ stylistic fast action, deep gameplay and unique visual style and kicks it up a few blood soaked notches!”

Vampire Smile is a 2D side-scrolling game that features two solo campaigns for players to choose from. You can either play The Dishwasher, picking up his story in the aftershock of the first game’s apocalyptic finale, or you can play as Yuki, The Dishwasher’s kickass sister.

From the official website:

“Vengeance is Yours! Seek retribution as you slash your way through 13 unique campaign levels as Yuki or The Dishwasher.

Be The Ultimate Dishwasher. Climb the Xbox LIVE® leaderboards in 50 Arcade levels and the almost endless Dish Challenge.

It’s More Fun With Friends. Two player local and Xbox LIVE® co-op support means that you and a friend can experience the carnage together.”

You can play the demo for free (obviously), the whole game costs 800 Microsoft Points, which is US $10.

I have yet to read a single bad review on The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, which is pretty damn impressive for an Xbox Arcade game. If you’re interested in playing the game I highly suggest checking out this thorough and detailed review of it here.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
