Openin’ Tombs and Mysterious Pyramid Passageways

Thirty years ago scientists discovered the reputedly cursed tomb of the builders of Giza’s great pyramid–and now they are set to reopen it. As I seem to recall, the skeletons in this communal grave displayed evidence of backbreaking labor and numerous injuries, which only makes sense if these were the guys who erected the monolith. It would also lead me to suspect that most of them didn’t live to ripe old ages. That pyramid-buildin’ is hard work, peeps. The tomb–which in reality is more akin to a graveyard–dates back some 4500 years, and is located near the Great Pyramid. One wonders if its shadow falls upon their final resting place.

Speaking of the Great Pyramid, it has a secret chamber inside of it. Scientists have long speculated that it was in there. Now they have proof, thanks to cosmic rays. They used muon particles, formed as the result of cosmic rays entering the Earth’s atmosphere, and which are capable of penetrating stone. Basically, they X-rayed the Pyramid. The “chamber,” though, might have served a mundane purpose, being put there merely to facilitate construction. Or there could be a blood-swillin’ mummy sealed inside of it. One’s about as likely as the other, I figure. I know which one I’m hoping proves true. How about you?
