Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

There’s a newly released book that has been getting a whole lot of hype – Paranormalcy. Written by Kiersten White this new magical novel already has a massive fan base. Check it out:

“Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie’s dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.”

After reading the description and a handful of reader reviews I rushed to add Paranormalcy to my Amazon wish list. It sounds like rad book.

The reviews tell me that this is the perfect book for fans of weird, it has an assortment of supernatural beasties. Just how we like it!  There are vampires of course, as well as werewolves, fey, water nymphs, gnomes, trolls and even mermaids. Awesome right? Even better is that each creature has its own unique powers and abilities.

Even some of your favorite authors are in love with this book:

“Kiersten White creates the perfect blend of light and dark. Even as the stakes rose higher, PARANORMALCY’s narrator, Evie, kept a smile on my face with her cunning wit. I can’t wait for more!” (Carrie Ryan, New York Times bestselling author of The Forest of Hands and Teeth)

“A fast, flirty roller coaster of a ride. This story was everything I hoped for—sassy, light-hearted and downright scary. Oh, bleep! I’m in love!” (Becca Fitzpatrick, New York Times bestselling author of Hush, Hush)

Will any of you pick up a copy of Paranormalcy? If you have already read it what did you think?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  1. I just finished this the other day. I read a lot of YA (read: paranormal romance ad nauseum) and this is hands down, the best of 2010. Loved the heroine, loved the concept, loved the blend of humor/mystery/action/budding romance. Hoping it turns into a series.

  2. im about 1/4 of the way through it right now :) i read Hush Hush (which i LOVED.) and from that book, on Amazon.com, was recommended to read Paranormalcy…so far i like it a lot! And it makes me laugh.
