Pattinson Climbs THE LIGHTHOUSE, Finds Dafoe Waiting For Him

I don’t really know who this Robert Pattinson guy is. Somebody told me he has some tangential connection to the subject of vampires, but after some exhaustive research, I failed to discover it. I’ll just have to take other folks’ word for it that such a connection exists. Anywhoo, Pattinson will star in an upcoming Horror movie entitled THE LIGHTHOUSE, along with Willem Dafoe, who does have a connection to vampires that I am aware of. He portrayed Max Schreck, aka Nosferatu, in SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE (and should have gotten the Oscar for so doing) waaaaaay back in 2000.

THE LIGHTHOUSE is the latest project from Robert Eggers, the guy who brought us THE WITCH (or THE VVITCH, if you prefer). If this is Eggers’ baby, there’s a guarantee that it’ll be good. Eggers was a production designer, costume designer, art director, and actor before graduating to that elite class, the writer-directors. I have a special appreciation for writer-directors, as they are bringing their own visions to life whole cloth, ex nihilo, and Eggers proved himself worthy of that esteem with his lovely WITCH.

Wait, wasn’t there talk that Eggers was going to do his own version of NOSFERATU? What happened with that?
