PollyGrind to Showcase Vampire vs. Zombie Film in May

PollyGrind is one of the biggest events for grindhouse and trash film lovers this year. PollyGrind will be presenting thirteen different grindhouse horror films during their film festival, from May 12 – 16 in Vegas at the Sci-Fi Center. The long name is the ‘Polly Staffle Grindhouse Fest’, –it’s the first one ever, and it’s going down at the Center, located 2520 State Street, for those interested in attending. If you do, be sure to drop us a line and tell us all about the films and event. As for the vampire vs. zombie creature feature being presented, yup, you heard me right.

The film is called “The Dead Undead”, and you’ll see vampire and zombies duking it out on screen. Should be pretty interesting, –my money’s on the vampires, what with the superhuman speed and strength. Then again, zombies don’t have to deal with sunlight. Here’s what our press release had to say:

“The Dead Undead world premieres May 13 to jump start a living dead triple feature dubbed “Zombies-A-Go-Go!” Stuntmen Matt Anderson and Edward Conna, who both have more than 100 stunt credits, co-directed The Dead Undead, which stars Luke Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army), Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior), and Spice Williams (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Soldier vampires take on zombie vampires in the action-horror joy ride.

“I’m nervous and anxious to see what people think of it,” Anderson said of his film on the podcast. “We haven’t screened it anywhere. There have been few people that have seen it.”””

Sounds exciting, it’s like the dirty little secret of the film world, with a handful of viewers, and overflowing with the walking undead. What exactly is a zombie vampire guys? Is that a slightly slower vampire that drinks blood? So… basically, these are vampires against their retarded cousins? I dunno, sounds nifty though. If anyone goes to see this, or has already, please, let us know!
