Now THAT is how you do a season opener! My only complain is that it was too short. I wanted more. I wanted two hours, for sure. It seemed we’d just gotten started when the closing credits started scrolling across the screen. Tempus sure did fugit during that show, which I suppose is as good an indicator as anything of the program’s quality and efficacy. If it is any indication, and I’m certain it is, then season three is gonna be a balls-out blitzkrieg of awesomeness.
Random thoughts: There was too much focus on Eph, which I admit was necessary, but I still prefer the other characters. Where the hell is Dutch? Is something going on between Samantha Mathis’ councilwoman Feraldo and Fet? Quinlan is still the coolest bastardo walking around on two legs. The highlight of the night for me, however, was the Master’s dispatching of that team of Navy SEALS. They kinda telegraphed it, what with the way Fet was earlier in the episode going on and on about how great the SEALS were, such amazing soldiers, yadda yadda yadda. But when the Master shredded the lot of them like so much fresh cotton candy, this only made it more enjoyable. Poor Fet. He’s gonna have to eat a lot of crow when he goes crawling back to Quinlan for help.
