Robert Pattinson Chats About His ‘Twilight’ Breakup
The Twilight Saga is finally coming to an end as the actors slowly wrap up the final two movies, and well, for some it’s bitter sweet. Robert Pattinson, who was made unbelievably famous by the first film in 2008, recently chatted about his final scenes as Edward Cullen and how he felt about the Twilight Saga ending.
As Pattinson wraps up his last scenes for the highly anticipated final installment, Breaking Dawn, he says it’s almost as if he’s losing a part of himself.
“It does feel like a breakup. I do love the guy — and I’m going to miss him,” Robert recently told the Chicago Sun-Times of leaving the sparkly character behind. “I prefer to think of ending this franchise like leaving school. It’s the last day of high school.”
But as I mentioned before, he isn’t too bummed out about leaving the role behind, there are a few things that he hated about playing Edward, and fortunately he doesn’t have to deal with them now.
“I’ll be very glad not to put those contacts in anymore or have to put on the sparkling makeup,” he said with a laugh.
Robert is leaving Twilight and moving on to much bigger and better roles, and even though he is putting the Twilight Saga behind him, he is grateful to have been part of the Twilight family (obviously, since it’s the reason he’s now getting these big roles).
“It’s been amazing to play the same character through so many adventures. And it’s so strange because my life has changed so much over these years, but Twilight and Edward Cullen will always be a part of me,” he said.
“It’s been my whole life. My whole 20s,” he added. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
I bet anything that the Twilight cast members are sick of playing the same roles over and over again and will probably throw a party once the final film is complete. I sure as hell would.
Breaking Dawn will be split up into two films, the first will hit theaters November 18, 2011 and the second will come out a year after that on November 16, 2012.
Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
