Rosario + Vampire: Perfect for the Pervy Anime Lovin’ Vampire Fan

I’ve heard talk about Rosario + Vampire for a while now but just recently gave the silly anime a watch. Based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akihisa Ikeda, the show tells the same tale of a human boy who accidentally gets enrolled in a school of monsters where he befriends a pretty vampire girl.

Official plot:

“Tsukune’s terrible grades stick him in the only school that will take him. To his mortification, all his classmates are monsters and if they figure out his human status, he’s fresh meat! But when his scent attracts the hungry lips of a gorgeous vampire named Moka, it turns out he’s a sucker for supernatural chicks. Before long, Tsukune is being seduced by a bouncy succubus, tormented by a witch who swings both ways, and felt-up by a stalker snow fairy. Moka doesn’t mind sharing with her new friends, but her panties get in a twist when real danger threatens her boy-toy. Beastly bullies beware, because when Tsukune unlocks Moka’s supermonster seal, a ravaging beauty with a dropkick from hell is revealed!”

After checking out the first episode of Rosario + Vampire  I can say without a doubt that this show is a perfect example of anime fan service – lots and lots of gratuitous breast close-ups and upskirt panty shots. If you watch a lot of anime then you have seen it before, it’s done ALL the time in naughtier anime shows and movies. Hot anime chicks with huge boobs and short skirts. Based on that alone it’s safe to assume that Rosario + Vampire is not some serious vampire show packed full of depth and intellectual thought. It’s ridiculous, it’s campy and hilariously naughty.

Watching it may kill a few brain cells, but I’ll admit, it was funny and entertaining. It was just ridiculous enough to amuse me. If you’re looking for a fun watch that’s a little dirty, then I suggest checking out Rosario + Vampire.

Season 1 is available on DVD and on Netflix.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
