SALEM’S LOT Leading Man, Anya Taylor-Joy to NOSFERATU

Good choice. Lewis Pullman, son of Bill Pullman and a terrific actor in his own right (check out BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE if you don’t believe me), has been cast as Ben Mears, the everyman hero of the story. That’ll do just fine. No word yet on who he’ll be pitted against in the roles of the vampire and the vampire’s head henchman, but with Gary Dauberman (writer on IT: CHAPTER TWO and the ANNABELLE movies) and James Wan involved, there’s every reason to expect good things from this new adaptation. I personally cannot wait. SALEM’S LOT had a lot to do with making me the man I am today. No hyperbole.

The lovely and talented Anya-Taylor Joy is set to reteam with Robert Eggers, with whom she collaborated for THE WITCH and with whom she just finished another movie, THE NORTHMAN, in a new adaptation of NOSFERATU. While I confess I’d watch her read from the phone book, it should be stated that she’s much more than just a pretty face; she’s got some serious acting chops, and considering Eggers’s resume—he gifted us with THE LIGHTHOUSE in addition to the aforementioned THE WITCH—we should be all sorts of excited about this one.
