Sarah Michelle Gellar Reminisces About the Good Ol’ Buffy Days

Our beloved vampire slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, played the role of Buffy on the former WB network for seven glorious seasons, and now, after a long television break, Sarah will return to the network (now called The CW) in the fall for the new drama Ringer. The ass kicking starlet chatted about coming back to the network, saying that she was excited to revisit her vampire infested stomping grounds.

“It’s really the right channel,” Sarah told Access Hollywood at The CW Network’s Upfront 2011 presentation in New York City last week. “One of the things I loved so much about being on Buffy on the WB was you had this really familiar experience. It wasn’t corporate — you could talk to all of the bosses. It was very open. The cast was always so friendly.

She added, “Having been here for about 35 seconds, everybody is so nice!” speaking of her new coworkers across the network.

Sarah’s upcoming show, Ringer, may have nothing to do with vampires, but I’m sure other Buffy fans like me are just happy hearing that she’s coming back to TV. The show, by the way, will have Sarah playing two roles, that of twin sisters who have been separated.

“I play both characters…They have an estranged history,” she said about her Ringer role. “Throughout the first season you’ll find out why they’re estranged, and how they’ll eventually come back together.”

Ringer will air following 90210 on Tuesdays this fall on The CW.

I have to admit, part of me is sad seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar play any other role other than Buffy (yes, I realize how ridiculous that is) but the other part of me is happy that she is finally coming back to TV. She’s done loads of movies since Buffy, but she hasn’t done much TV (except for a few episodes of Robot Chicken), so it’s nice seeing her in her own show again. Yay Sarah!
