See First Scenes from Breaking Dawn: Part 2 at Target’s Midnight Release Event

As every Twi-hard knows, February 11, 2012 is the day when Breaking Dawn: Part 1 will come out on DVD and Blu-ray. It’s already a big day for all of the hardcore Twilight fans out there, but Target is making it even bigger. The store is going to host a huge Breaking Dawn midnight release party where fans can not only pick up their exclusive copy of the film, but where they can also watch a sneak peek of Breaking Dawn: Part 2.

Here are the details on the big event:

Target announced that nearly 500 stores across the country will extend store hours to host a release event for Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” available on DVD and Blu-ray. Beginning at 11 p.m. on Feb. 10, fans will be shown an exclusive, world premiere scene from the fifth and final film, Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Then, at midnight, fans can purchase the Target exclusive Breaking Dawn – Part 1 DVD Limited Collector’s Edition that includes an authentic prop flower from the wedding scene beautifully encased in an acrylic keepsake.  The special edition DVD and Blu-ray will also be available.

“We’re making Target the Twilight Saga destination this February,” said John Butcher, vice president of entertainment, Target. “By extending our store hours, fans will not only get their hands on the exclusive merchandise first, but they’ll also get an exciting sneak peek of the final film.”

So not only do you fans get a limited edition of the film. But you get to see a scene from Part 2 as well. Target is definitely hooking the Twi-hards up this year.

As said above, only about 500 stores are holding this release event, to see if there’s a store near you that’s doing it check out Target’s Twilight site HERE. On that site you can also find LOADS of Twilight merchandise – from jewelry to bedding.

If all that wasn’t enough, Target is also holding a sweepstakes where a lucky winner gets to spend 5 nights at the Esme resort house in Rio De Janeiro.

Anyone planning on going to Target’s release party? What scene do you hope they’ll show from Part 2?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  5. I’m gonna sit in the parking lot and watch teenage girls try to remove my “VAMPIRES” license plate (key-bolt locked to a massive steel bumper that weighs about as much as the average “Twilight” fan).

The Part 2 preview obviously should be the big debut for Renesmee Cullen (aka Nessie), the dhampir whom even her creator (Stephenie Meyer) didn’t know was a dhampir… >;^)

  6. Can’t wait! Thanks Target for showing the love to Twilight fans! So excited to see the scene from BD part 2!! I heard the sneak scene would show Bella (as a vampire) and Edward in their cottage home. OMG….hurry up and be Friday night already!!!

    1. Nope. The preview shows at 11pm and then you can buy the dvd at midnight, you don’t have to purchase the movie. At least that’s what the Target near me is doing.

  7. The night was perfect. Foggy as London, England (quite rare where I live).
No Nessie :^C, but it was cool to see Bella as a vampire (the red eyes look good!)

The main shocker for most of the fans seemed to be that the special edition (with the prop flower) was only on DVD, not Blu-Ray.

And yes, my “VAMPIRES” license plate is still attached to my car. >;^)

  8. Has anyone heard any updates on a possible completion and/or release date for “Midnight Sun” the book? I read the draft on Mrs. Meyers website and cannot wait to read the rest!!!

    1. She made it clear ages ago that she would never finish it or publish it. After it was leaked and everyone read the rough draft she was crushed and couldn’t bring herself to finish it up. She wrote about it on her site here as an intro to the draft.

Who knows though, she may change her mind in the future and finish it.
