SUPERNATURAL meets SCOOBY-DOO.

When I was a kid, I remember one magical Saturday morning when there occurred a crossover between the Batman and Robin cartoon and Scooby-Doo. I was mesmerized. The Harlem Globetrotters had appeared in a Scooby episode, too, but I didn’t really know back then who the Globetrotters were, except that some of them had magical powers and could turn into things like a giant talking basketball. (You young whippersnappers today have no idea what you missed out on by being born so late. Poor pitiful creatures.) But this was BATMAN! And he was on Scooby-Doo! The creepy monsters and spooks were really in for it that Saturday!

The grand tradition of doing Scooby smash-ups continues to our present day. There is a crossover planned with SUPERNATURAL, the CW network’s longest-running series. The Winchester Brothers, who have made a dozen seasons’ worth of hash out of hunting and slaying vampires, werewolves, demons, and anything else of a supernatural nature the writers could think of, will be appearing in animated form. It won’t be as cool as when Batman appeared, but it might be worth checking out.

Hey, doesn’t the CW have the TV rights to all those DC superheroes? Maybe Batman COULD show up, after all!
