The Anguished Man

Although you may have read that The Anguished Man, supposedly one of the world’s most haunted paintings, is for sale, apparently that’s not the case. Unfortunately, you’ll have to spend your nickels and dimes on another piece of possessed artwork.

I think I smell a rat. And I mean that in the best possible way. Supposedly there’s this painting called THE ANGUISHED MAN. Supposedly it was up for sale on eBay. And supposedly it was then yanked from eBay for unspecified reasons and securely “locked away,” presumably so that it can’t work any harm on those around it. Supposedly the painting is cursed; the artist supposedly mixed his own blood in with the paint and committed suicide shortly after finishing the work. Supposedly things of a paranormal nature tend to occur in any room, or even any house, where the painting is displayed.

You may notice there are a lot of “supposedlys” in the above paragraph. That’s because the individual who is supposedly the owner of the painting, the guy who yanked it off eBay to prevent some unfortunate soul from suffering harm under its influence, actually works for a movie company. It could be coincidence, COULD be, but I’m suspecting a viral marketing campaign for an upcoming Horror flick. A GOOD viral marketing campaign, sneaky and tantalizing, something like we had with THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, when they almost had me convinced the whole thing was for real. Admit it, aren’t you intrigued?

  1. Hi Wayne, just pointing out it wasn’t the real Anguished Man for sale but a very poor copy. So I never yanked it off ebay because it was never on there. I just didn’t want people to get ripped off. Thanks – Sean
