The Batman Vs Dracula

It’s not hard to imagine that a guy that runs around in a bat suit all night would have more than his fair share of run ins with vampires and in The Batman Vs Dracula the Dark Knight encounters none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Count Dracula.

Life in Arkham Asylum is not exactly stimulating so when The Penguin is informed by a fellow inmate that there is a fortune stashed away in Gotham Cemetery and half of it is his if he agrees to help the guy escape, Penguin is more than a little intrigued. He’s going to have to be quick though because word of the treasure has already gotten around and The Joker is already one step ahead of him.

Using Joker‘s escape to facilitate his own, Penguin soon catches up to the Clown Prince of Crime and offers a partnership. Joker agrees but everyone knows you can’t trust a clown (especially an insane one) and Penguin soon finds himself on the wrong end of Joker‘s electric joy buzzer, shocking! Not everything is going Joker‘s way though, the Dark Knight is on the prowl and soon catches up with the green-haired madman.

While Joker is occupied with The Batman, Penguin takes the opportunity to head to the cemetery and retrieve his treasure. Armed with the information that the treasure is hidden ‘in the tomb behind the grave with the cross’, Penguin becomes more than a little discouraged when he realizes that there are a heck of a lot of graves with crosses on them in a cemetery. He’s damned and determined to find that treasure though, even if it takes all night.

Things aren’t going all that well for Joker either. Entangled in battle with the Caped Crusader, Joker makes a false move, causing him to fall into the river. Remember those electric joy buzzers of his? Yeah, well what happens when you mix water and electricity? That’s right, it looks like bye bye Joker. With Joker gone and Penguin nowhere in sight Batman decides to call it a night. After all, Bruce Wayne has a huge gala to prepare for, celebrating the unveiling of a new solar energy device produced by Wayne Enterprises.

Penguin continues to search for the treasure but gets more than he bargains for when he uncovers the tomb of none other than Count Dracula. Having been sent to be buried in Gotham City after being destroyed by his enemies, Dracula had remained dead for well over a century. That all changes the moment Penguin accidentally bleeds on the Prince of Darkness, causing him to awaken. Now fully restored and with Penguin as his sentinel, the Dark Prince has plans to turn Gotham into a city of the damned, starting with the most affluent members of Gotham‘s elite, which of course means starting with Bruce Wayne.

As more and more reports of missing people pop up it’s not long before Batman begins to encounter Dracula‘s new vampires. He knows he has to do something to save the ‘Lost Ones‘ but it’s not until Bruce Wayne meets a cultural anthropologist by the name of Dr. Alucard that Batman realizes that he is up against the king of all vampires, Count Dracula. Armed with this information Batman knows he has to stop Dracula and save the ‘Lost Ones‘ and he better do it fast because Dracula‘s set his sights on Vicki Vale, Gotham City news reporter and Bruce Wayne‘s current squeeze.

Even though The Batman Vs Dracula isn’t the greatest Batman animated feature ever (that honor goes to Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker) it is still an absolute must for any Batman/vampire fans out there. If you’re an oldie like me and are wondering why the animation and voices aren’t the same as Batman: The Animated Series (which ran from ’92-’95), that’s because this movie is from the newer series titled The Batman (which ran from ’04-’08). While I’m not all that fond of the newer Joker (not that he’s bad but cumon, who could possibly fill Mark Hamill‘s shoes?) I gotta admit, I do like Penguin much better in The Batman than I did in Batman: TAS. Mind you, even though this Joker may not be my favorite, seeing him as a vampire is pretty darn cool!

Grab a bucket of popcorn and turn down the lights, The Batman Vs Dracula is a fun movie for Batman fans of all ages.

Though, everyone is familiar with what ginger is, not many of
us know the benefits of the root. Although it is used in cooking,
it has been used both culinary and medicinally for over 5000 years in the Chinese and Indian cultures.
There are also various breathing exercises which will be effective in
open some of the many airways and let in some new oxygen.
