The Best ‘Breaking Dawn’ Moments at Comic-Con

I’ve got more Comic-Con goodies for you! This time it’s for all of the Twilight fans dying for dish on Breaking Dawn. The cast of the Twilight Saga returned this year after taking last year off from San Diego Comic-Con, and their panel has every Twi-hard talking. They went BIG this year by revealing new Breaking Dawn footage, serving fans food and chatting about the super awkward sex scene.

Here’s a look at some of the Twilight highlights at Comic-Con 2011:

The Cast Treat Fans to Breakfast
Cast members Ashley Greene (Alice), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), Booboo Stewart (Seth Clearwater) and Julia Jones (Leah Clearwater) surprised a lucky group of Twi-hards with an early-morning wake-up call that included a gift of muffins and fruit. They then hung around and took photos and did signings with the group. Pretty sweet of them.

Big Wedding Scene Was Filmed “Secret-Service Style”
As we all know, the Breaking Dawn crew have done everything to keep spoilers and photos of the scenes from reaching the hungry fans online, especially images of Bella’s much talked about wedding dress. During panel Kristen Stewart chatted about the lengths they took to keep the dress a secret.

“The wedding was secret-service style. It was insane. The crew was completely inconvenienced and grumbling around set,” she said at the panel discussion. But she made sure to share her appreciation. “You don’t understand what this means to us,” she told the security team. “If this dress gets on the Internet, I’ll die.”

Bella and Edward’s Creepy Baby
There has been lots of talk about the gruesome birthing scene Stephenie Meyer wrote in Breaking Dawn and what it will be like in the film. And well, according to the Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filming it was absolutely horrifying.

“We had an animatronic baby, the scene where [Bella] had to be introduced to the baby for the first time,” Pattinson explained.

Stewart revealed that while the scene is one of her favorites in the book, the fact that the baby bore more of a resemblance to Chuckie from “Child’s Play” than a real newborn made the scene a bit uncomfortable.

“[The puppeteer] is sweating right below my eyeline, trying to [reach] up to get the [animatronic baby’s] hand up to touch your face,” Stewart said. “And then it sticks to your hair and pulls a little bit and you’re like, ‘Ew, get that thing off me! Get me a real baby, this is ridiculous!’ ” she said. “And it had hair!”

“If you’ve ever seen a baby with a wig on …,” Pattinson offered. “[It] looked like a little troll on a stick.”

Creepy.

Seven-Minute Honeymoon Clip
6,000 lucky fans who attended the film’s panel were treated to a steamy sneak peek of the honeymoon and about seven minutes of new footage from the film.

Pattinson said that the key to getting around the awkwardness involved in filming that scene was to just go for it.

“You just get lubed up and jump right into it!” he quipped. “You have to have some tantric breathing and stuff.”

He also added that fans shouldn’t be too excited about seeing him shirtless on screen.

“The thing I was most nervous about was taking my shirt off,” Pattinson said of which scenes he was most nervous about.

“I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up,” Pattinson said. “I look like an inflatable frankfurter in some of those [scenes].”

Hahaha!

Unfortunately, the new footage hasn’t been released to the public yet. There are a few terrible videos online some people took with their cell phones, but you can barely see anything due to the quality and the horrible angle.

New Posters Revealed
Summit Entertainment also released a Breaking Dawn poster during Comic-Con, a poster that are WAY better than that lame teaser one, although, Bella’s hair looks awful. Check it out (click for full size):

  4. I’m pretty psyched. It’s cool that they’re using practical effects for Nessie rather than just CG. I hope that they push the ratings envelope on the sex and body horror aspects.
