The Hilarious Parodies of The Hillywood Show

Blending humor and vampires proves tricky.  For every Love at First Bite a least a dozen other terrible, unfunny attempts at stringing together lame jokes.  In recent years Twilight became an easy target for some.  A few clever ones came out, but most were only funny if the idea of hating that series is entertaining in and of itself.

Then came The Hillywood Show.  Hilly and Hannah Hindi are a pair of sisters in Las Vegas.  Years ago they started doing a series of variety skits on YouTube, bringing together all kinds of characters they liked (from Doc Brown to Anakin Skywalker to Sweeney Todd and Willy Wonka).   Hundreds, then thousands of hits later, they started doing parodies with their version of The Dark Knight.  Only it wasn’t completely a parody, but more of a humorous tribute–in which the Joker (Harley Quinn at his side) played cards with Scarecrow, Batman and Two-Face.  All to the tune of Lady Gaga‘s “Poker Face.”

Next someone suggested they do Twilight.  They had hopes to maybe eventually reach 100,000 hits over the course of a few months.

It did that much on the first day.

Since then, The Hillywood Show has done parodies of Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Runaways and of course The Vampire Diaries (the last one below).  They are on record as hoping to do Dark Shadows.  Meanwhile, they’ve continued to make a new parody video with each new film of the Stephanie Meyers series.  Fan line up to meet them at conventions while even more eagerly await each new video, often recording their own reactions to each one and almost as eagerly devouring the “Making Of” videos of each one.   But for anyone wishing to make a parody, or to successfully make fun of almost anything, here are Hillywood’s Twilight parodies (so far).  One more to go later this year!

Followed of course by New Moon:

And Eclipse:

Then Breaking Dawn Part One:

Naturally Breaking Dawn Part Two will come in time, but meanwhile here is an extra–their delightful parody of The Vampire Diaries!

Please let us know what you think!

  1. These are really well done, I am impressed. I love that they were funny and entertaining, but not in a cliche insulting way. Excellent parodies.
