The Love Triangle Continues in Vampire Diaries Season 4
The Elena, Damon and Stefan love triangle has been going on since Season 1 of The Vampire Diaries – and that won’t be changing anytime soon. Elena may have chosen Stefan in Season 3, but with her becoming a vampire, all bets are off.
While Elena chose Stefan at the end of season 3, the triangle between herself and the two Salvatore brothers has yet to be resolved, Plec spilled.
“It’s a different dynamic between the three of them especially,” Plec said, “If our fanbase has learned anything since watching the show from the beginning, things are constantly shifting, evolving, moving, coming back around and weaving through, are relationships are always growing.”
Plec also explained that with both Damon and Stefan trying to help Elena through her vampire transition, it will bring all new complications and drama to the three. Both of the brothers have their own vampire lifestyle they live by, and both want Elena to follow in their path.
This “back and forth” will cause Elena to become confused about who she wants to be as a vampire and “how she’s going to survive this and if she’s going to survive it.”
It has been hinted however, that at the end of the second episode of Season 4, Elena is going to show hints of leaning towards one of the brother’s vampire lifestyle. I am hoping it will be Damon’s since he seems to have much better control than Stefan.
I know that the love triangle is pretty much the basis of the show, but I am so sick of it. Elena becoming a vampire adds a new twist to it, but it’s still overplayed. Hopefully it doesn’t take center stage in Season 4. What do you think? Are you happy that the love triangle will go on?
Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
