real vampires, vampire games and tv shows, movies, and vampire books

This is terrible news. Terrible. It might not be for you, but it damn sure is for me.

It has been announced the eagerly-anticipated TV series based on Anne Rice’s VAMPIRE CHRONICLES books will be going to Hulu. F*cking Hulu. I would have expected one of the prominent cable networks. Nope. No such luck. F*cking livestreaming.

It’s like this, people. I live on Walton’s Mountain. (Actually it’s a high point on the plateau called Sand Mountain in northeastern Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian mountain range.) We can’t get cable TV or the Internet—years ago, when I called to inquire about getting cable television, the guy on the other end of the line actually laughed—unless it’s through satellite, and my satellite feed kinda really sucks. One raincloud comes rolling through and it goes out. Yet I have to make do with what I can get—and I can’t livestream. This means that any of the shows on Netflix, like STRANGER THINGS, and now THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES on Hulu, I can’t watch. Yeah, I *could* sit and watch the show on my laptop, but being on satellite means metered usage, and watching even one episode would burn through my monthly allotment and put me in data restriction which, combined with the lousy satellite feed, means I might as well not even bother trying to log-in.

It sucks, being technologically deprived. What do I do, move? From a place that’s paid for to a place where I have to pay rent? Just to be able to watch television?

F*cking Hulu. Man, f*ck my luck.

All is not yet lost- perhaps you can buy the DVD box set of the Vampire Chronicles in about six months or a year from now!
