Top 10 Buffy the Vampire Slayer Villains

I was recently watching a Buffy the Vampire Slayer rerun that featured my favorite Buffy villainess, Drusilla, and I got to thinking about all the other hilarious, psychotic, horrifying, unique and radass villains the show has had. That train of thought brought you today’s post, a list of my personal favorite Buffy villains. (In no particular order)

1. Drusilla

My all time favorite Buffy villain! Dru was a giant sack of crazy, she was cruel and monstrous, but she was so damned entertaining you couldn’t help but love her and her psychic crazies.

“…The pixies in my head whispered it to me.”

2. Spike

Sexy sexy Spike! He got his nickname due his love for torturing victims with railroad spikes. He does eventually become one of the good guys, but when this vampire was bad he was really bad (and hot).

“If every vampire who said he was at the Crucifixion was actually there it would’ve been like Woodstock. I was at Woodstock. I fed off a flower person and I spent six hours watching my hand move.”

3. Glory

Glory was one of three hell gods who ruled over a demon dimension, until they kicked her out and trapped her in a human body. She lost a chunk of sanity with each episode and it made her so much more fun to watch, she was one hilarious evil woman. I was really rooting for her to win and take Dawn down… Dawn was such a pain in the ass.

“I just want you to know: this whole ‘beat you to death-thing’ I’m doing is valuable time out of my life that I’m never going to get back.”

4. The Master

The Master gets points for being the first Big Bad in the show. He was the hideous ancient vampire that caused Buffy all sorts of hell in season 1.

“I’ve lost my appetite for this one. She keeps looking at me. I’m trying to eat and she looks at me.”

5. Sweet

Sweet was the demon responsible for all the singing and dancing in “Once More With Feeling,” the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Need I say more?

“I can bring whole cities to ruin, and still have time to get a soft-shoe in.”

6. The Gentlemen

These guys were in the Buffy episode “Hush” and they were so damn creepy! The Gentlemen stole voices and then went around stealing human hearts. I think out of all the Buffy bad guys they were one of the freakiest.

(No quote since they never speak)

7.  Nerd Trio

Haha these guys were awesome! Jonathan, Andrew and Warren – the three human wannabe super-villains. At first they were just giant pains in Buffy’s fine ass, but eventually Warren became a real evil when he killed a beloved member of the Scooby Gang.

Warren: “We’re your  arch nemesis-es. You may’ve beaten us this time, Slayer. But next time… Umm… next time…”
Jonathan: “- Maybe not!”

8. Angelus

Angel was Buffy’s first and only love, luckily he was a vampire with a soul, but man when he lost that soul of his he turned into one of the worse Buffy villains ever. He tortured and murdered innocents, and also turned the lives of Buffy and her friends into total chaos.

“I wanna torture you. I used to love it, and it’s been such a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn’t even have chainsaws.”

9. The First

As its name says, it was the first evil. An entity that predated man and demon, the personification of evil, it manifested from all evil in existence. The First was an incorporeal presence that could assume the form of any person who had died.

“You think you can fight me? I’m not a demon, little girl. I am something that you can’t even conceive. The First Evil. Beyond sin, beyond death. I am the thing the darkness fears. You’ll never see me, but I am everywhere. Every being, every thought, every drop of hate.”

10. Dracula

The episode where Buffy met Dracula was fabulous! It was the perfect mixture of old and new. The whole deal with Dracula wooing Buffy and controlling Xander was awesome.

“I’m sure you’ve heard the stories. The tales. The legends. Do try to contain your fear. Would be a shame if terror dulled this extraordinary event. After all, it’s not every day you meet… Dracula.”

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
