Trouble Coming for Sam And Luna in Latest True Blood Promo

HBO knows that “Waiting Sucks” so they continue to tease those of us waiting anxiously for the return of True Blood with little tidbits of footage from the upcoming fifth season. So far we have seen all kinds of mini sneak peeks at what’s to come, and this week, we’ve got another.

This week’s “Waiting Sucks” feature gives us a look at a brief conversation between Sam Merlotte and his fellow shapeshifting girlfriend Luna. From the sound of their short conversation, something bad happened to someone they know – and something bad may be happening to them next.

Ba ba buuum!

My first thought after seeing this short clip was who are “they” and what happened to them? If Luna is crying about them she must have known them and liked them, right? Maybe friends we haven’t met? My second thought was that maybe someone is tracking down and killing shapeshifters. Why someone would do that, I don’t know, but that’s my theory. The vagueness in this short video is frustrating, but that’s kind of the point, they want you to want more. Anyway, the clip ends with a sudden noise that catches both Luna and Sam by surprise. That of course leads me to believe that they are also in danger.

From the looks of all of the promo videos thus far it sounds like damn near everyone will be in danger this season, which honestly, doesn’t came as any kind of surprise. It is True Blood after all. One thing that does worry me though is that each of these “Waiting Sucks” videos feature different characters in danger, meaning that there are going to be MANY storylines again. I know some people love having over a dozen subplots in a single season, but personally, I would rather have them properly focus on just a few.
