I’m so glad to be writing the words “season finale” instead of “series finale.” It was announced at the recent San Diego Comic Con that there would be a second season of this excellent series. The closer for season one sure left the door open for future stories. In fact it sets the stage nicely for the second season to follow the storyline, more or less, as it is written in the novel by Joe Hill, the novel that inspired the TV series. In said novel, Charlie has gone to prison and died, then comes back from the dead to kidnap Vic’s own child. With the closing of season one, Charlie is well on his way both to prison and to dying, and Vic is pregnant. Convenient.
True story: as we were watching the finale, and the Wraith gets torched with Craig inside, my lovely better half was sad that Craig got killed, whereas I was all “Nnooooo! The Wraith!” I wasn’t really worried, though. I knew the Wraith would be back, just like Charlie will be back.
Some superb acting in this episode (actually episodes, plural), particularly from Ashleigh Cummings. That girl’s got some chops. And she’s Australian! Not a trace of an accent.
When will we be seeing season two of NOS4A2? There’s no official word, but it will likely hit around the one-year anniversary of this season’s premiere, sometime early next summer.
In the meantime, Funko needs to give us some NOS4A2 figures. And Hot Wheels should totally issue a replica of the Wraith!
