Nancy Drew The New Case Files #1: Nancy Drew Vampire Slayer by Stefan Petrucha, Sarah Kinney, and Sho Murase
Nope, I didn’t make this one up. There is really a Nancy Drew vampire comic on the way. Anyway, Vampire-mania has taken over River Heights, with teenage girls going wild over the new “DieLite” novels and movies. But what happens when a supposedly “real” gorgeous young vampire arrives on the scene? Will Nancy expose him as a fraud or will she fall under his dark spell? As if that wasn’t enough, there is something dark and sinister happening while everyone’s distracted by the vampire craze. Could this possibly be linked to what’s happening in Bayport, home of the Hardy Boys?
Haha, I like the little Twilight dig there. Coming out: September 14, 2010
American Vampire Vol. 1 by Scott Snyder, Stephen King, and Rafael Albuquereque
One of the big vampire released this year follows two stories: one written by Snyder and one written by King. Snyder’s story is set in 1920’s LA, readers follow Pearl, a young woman who is turned into a vampire and sets out on a path of righteous revenge against the European Vampires who tortured and abused her. This story is paired with King’s story, a western about Skinner Sweet, the original American Vampire, who is a stronger, faster creature than any vampire ever seen before with rattlesnake fangs and powered by the sun. Coming out: October 5, 2010
