Update on DARK SHADOWS’ Denise Nickerson

Denise Nickerson, who played multiple roles on the seminal DARK SHADOWS series, continues to fight after suffering a stroke recently. She is still struggling and is a long way from being out of the woods, but she is tenacious. Her family members keep us posted via social media, as does her friend, Sharon (Smyth) Lentz, who played Sarah Collins on DARK SHADOWS before Denise’s character(s) was/were introduced. The PayPal account to help out Denise’s family with her ongoing medical bills is still up and running, and you can send her a get-well card at the following address:

Although Denise is still in intensive care in the hospital, her family members have pledged to keep all her mail until she can view it herself.

Here is the latest update from Denise’s daughter-in-law: “They had to move her to a room where they can monitor her more closely. She pulled out her feeding tube and has been trying to fully climb out of bed. Her lung collapsed. They just discovered in the last few hours so they are putting a tube in to re-inflate it. A rough day so far.” Denise may or may not have to have a pacemaker installed when she is stronger, and there is not yet any way of telling how much she will recover her abilities to speak or move. Please send some positive vibes her way.
