Well, it looks like it’s back to rock bottom for Elliot Finke. Now that Al has no intention of finishing the documentary, Elliot‘s dreams of a comeback seem out of reach.
What does a washed out recovering alcoholic documentary director do when things start to fall apart? That’s right, it’s back to the bottle. Thankfully Elliot still has some friends in his corner, namely Kenny the cameraman who has lovingly replaced all the alcohol in Elliot‘s place with water. Touched by Kenny‘s thoughtfulness Elliot decides to make a trip to the liquor store.
Next stop, Billy‘s guest house. Elliot gives Billy fifteen seconds to talk him out of getting drunk but Billy insists he’s busy. Wondering what Billy could possibly have going on at two in the morning Elliot recognizes the voice of the sword swallower with no gag reflex inside the guest house. Billy agrees to let Elliot stay and the sword swallower then proceeds to regal the guys with her ‘talent’.
After the ‘show’ Elliot and Billy have a heart to heart over ‘George Forearm’ grilled burgers. Noticing that Elliot is rather preoccupied with how badly he screwed things up with Al, Billy insists that things would have been fine if Elliot had just gone along with everything. Elliot still isn’t convinced Al‘s a vampire and is worried about putting his reputation on the line, a reputation Billy reminds him, he hasn’t had for twenty years.
Billy confides in Elliot that the reason he put Al and Elliot together was that he knew that if he put his two favorite clients together he could make their careers rise to the level they both deserve. Elliot is quick to remind Billy that he isn’t signed to him in which Billy responds, “Not yet.” Billy wants Al and Elliot to believe in each other, even if Elliot doesn’t believe Al‘s a real vampire. Elliot wants to know how to get Al back but Billy assures him all he has to do is to wait for Al to come to him. Billy has big plans and as if proving that he is a guy that can deliver, there’s a knock at the door.
In walks Al, who without a word embraces Elliot. Believing that all is well and that things are back on track Elliot has one thing to say… “Billy, you’re hired!”
It looks like there may be a happy ending for Elliot and Al after all but does Al feel the same way? There’s one last episode left and anything can happen so tune in next Monday at babelgum.com to watch the Vamped Out finale.
