Vampire Books Coming December 2011

It’s that time again! The time to take a peek at all of the fangtastic vampire books coming out this month! Woot! Sadly, there aren’t many vampire books being released this December. But worry not, a few of them sound excellent, so this month isn’t a total downer.

Interdisciplinary Approaches to Twilight: Studies in Fiction, Media and a Contemporary Cultural Experience by Mariah Larsson and Ann Steiner
Yet another non-fiction book that delves into the world of Twilight. This anthology contains in-depth film analyses, gender perspectives, economic and literary studies of the book market, and several articles on fans and fandom as well as contributions investigating vampire fiction traditions and vampire religious beliefs. A theoretically well-founded study, this volume maps the contemporary cultural experience surrounding Twilight and discusses multiple themes, such as fear of aging, vampire ethics and the cross-generational appeal.
Coming out December 1, 2011.

Night Reigns (Immortal Guardians, Book 2) by Dianne Duvall
This book follows Ami, who has a hard time trusting anyone. She’s no coward though, and she’s no pushover in the protection department either. So when she comes across a mysterious warrior taking on eight deranged vampires on his own, she doesn’t hesitate to save his bacon.  Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into…
Coming out December 6, 2011.

Vampire Cheerleaders 2 by Adam Arnold, Comipa and Shiei
I read the first volume of this manga and loved it (read my review here)! This wonderfully campy manga tells the tale of a group of vampire cheerleaders and their dream to win the national cheerleading championships. As a bonus, it’s a double issue and also comes with the manga Paranormal Mystery Squad.

Blood of Eden by Tami Dane
A new vampire series! About Sloan, who has a sky-high IQ, a chaotic personal life, and a dream: to work for the FBI. Her goal is within reach until an error lands her with the FBI’s ugly stepchild: the new Paranormal Behavioral Analysis Unit. She’ll get to profile criminals, but the pool of suspects is a little more…diverse. Yet even as Sloan tackles her first case–a string of victims, all with puncture wounds to the neck–she can’t silence her inner para-skeptic. To catch the killer she’ll have to think like one. That means casting aside her doubts, and dealing with the bizarre nightmares that started with the job. But the strangeness is only beginning, as Sloan pieces together the shocking truth about a case that’s more personal than she ever would have guessed.

The Cross: Vampire Federation by Sean McCabe
The vampires call it the Cross of Ardaich: a relic thought to have been destroyed in the war between the Federation and the rebels. But it has been found, and its incredible powers could signal the end of civilization. A cannibalistic serial killer becomes the perfect tool for the race of the Ubervampyr. His mission: find the cross. His reward: join the ranks of the undead. On his trail are Detective Joel Solomon and Vampire Federation agent Alex Bishop. Once lovers and now enemies, they must work together to prevent the ultimate disaster. Unless they can foil the vampyrs’ plans, salvation for the race will be just a dream gone bad.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
