I am happy to report that vampire books are still going strong and we have loads of goodies coming out this February. Check out the fangtastic books hitting book shelves this month!

Uprising: Vampire Federation by Sean McCabe
In this novel, a gruesome ritual murder has stained the Oxfordshire countryside. It’s just the first incident in a chain of events awakening Detective Inspector Joel Solomon to his worst nightmare – and a dreadful omen of things to come. Because Joel has a secret: he believes in vampires. Then you have Alex Bishop, an agent of the Vampire Intelligence Agency. She’s tasked with enforcing the laws of the global Vampire Federation, and hunting rogue members of her race. A tough job made tougher when the Federation comes under attack by traditionalist vampires. They have a stake in old-school terror, and in an uprising as violent as it is widespread.

Red Moon Rising by Peter Moore
A young adult novel with vampires and werewolves! Being only half-vamp in a high school like Carpathia Night makes you a whole loser. But thanks to genetic treatments Danny Gray had as an infant, most people assume Danny’s other half is human. Which is a good thing.   Ever since the development of synthetic blood – SynHeme – vamps have become society’s elite, while wulves like his father work menial jobs and live in bad neighborhoods.  Wulves are less than second class citizens; once a month they become inmates, forced to undergo their Change in dangerous government compounds. For Danny, living with his vamp mother and going to a school with a nearly all-vamp student body, it’s best to pretend his wulf half doesn’t even exist.  But lately Danny’s been having some weird symptoms — fantastic night vision; a keener-than-usual sense of smell; and headaches, right around the full moon. Even though it’s easy to be in denial, it’s hard to ignore evidence.  There’s only a month until the next few moon, and Danny’s time is running out.

A Discovery of Witches: A Novel by Deborah E. Harkness
This book tells the story a lost alchemical manuscript—Ashmole 782—and its discovery. The historian who finds the book is Diana Bishop, a descendant of the first woman executed for witchcraft in Salem. When Diana calls up the bewitched manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library, her discovery attracts the interest of all sorts of creatures, including a brilliant scientist named Matthew Clairmont who also happens to be a long-lived vampire. A Discovery of Witches follows their efforts to understand Ashmole 782 and to figure out why so many are drawn to this mysterious book.

These are February’s vampire books! There’s not as many as past months, but there are still a few gems here.  There are quite a few other vampire books coming out this month too, but since they’re all paperback reprints of older books, I left them out. If you’re interested in those, leave a comment and I’ll fill you in.

So which book are you most excited for?

By Moonlight

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  1. Don’t forget Kerrelyn Sparks’ Vampire Mine and Sexiest Vampire Alive coming out in March and September! Her books are the best.
