Vampire Books Coming November 2010

It’s that glorious time again! Time to look at the vampire books coming out this month! Hurray for books! The vampire craze is still going strong so there are still loads of new bloodthirsty books hitting the shelves. Check out what we have to look forward to this month:

The Vampire Diaries: Stefan’s Diaries #1: Origins by L. J. Smith and Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec

I wrote about this book here. I’m not sure why L. J. Smith is included in the list of authors seeing how she didn’t actually write this book. Nope, the folks from the Vampire Diaries TV show wrote this. The title pretty much tells you what the story is about – Stefan. The book covers Stefan’s past as a human when he first meets Katherine.

In the Company of Vampires: A Dark Ones Novel by Katie MacAlister
An adult book about Francesca, who arrives at GothFaire to save her mother from the trickster god, Loki. As if that wasn’t bad, things get worse. Her vampire ex, Benedikt, is there, full of secrets-and with a new girlfriend. Now Fran must battle a group who wishes to dominate both the immortal and mortal worlds. Luckily, Fran’s no ordinary mortal.

Bitten in Two (Jaz Parks, Book 7) by Jennifer Rardin
Jaz Parks returns in her seventh book and this time she arrives in Morocco to secure an ancient artifact, but everything goes wrong when Vayl begins to act strangely. Now Jaz is forced to play along until her and the gang can figure out what kind of power has so vastly altered his perceptions.
Coming out November 8, 2010.

Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer Volume 2: The Great Puppet Theater by Van Jensen, Dustin Higgins, and Dusty Higgins
I also covered this awesome comic book here. Pinocchio is back, but now he has to share the vampire-killing stage with his wooden siblings. The stakes are raised in this sequel to the acclaimed 2009 graphic novel, as Pinocchio unravels the mystery of the undead menace and his own shadowy background.
Coming out November 9, 2010

The Greyfriar (Vampire Empire, Book 1) by Clay Griffith
Vampires and steampunk! Yay! In 1870 the vampires rose up and conquered the northern lands of Earth. The northern elites fled south to new colonies, leaving their subjects to the mercy of the predators. By 2020, the world is still divided. Princess Adele of the Equatorian Empire becomes the catalyst of the final human–vampire war when she is lost in vampire territory with only a mysterious adventurer known as the Greyfriar to help her.
Coming out November 18, 2010.

Vampire Snacks by Larry Derryberry
This is a children’s book about Bobby, Mikey, and his dog named Squash, who find themselves trapped by Count Boris Batwing and his lovely, long-fanged wife, LaGoria. Mikey and Bobby need to escape Batwing mansion, otherwise they will become part the vampire’s diabolical experiment.
Coming out November 23, 2010.

Vampires Not Invited: A Night Tracker Novel by Cheyenne McCray
Vampire attacks are on the rise in the city that never sleeps. So why is Nyx tracking down Sprites? Sure, these “young bloods” are causing mischief all over town – like painting the Statue of Liberty’s toenails neon pink. But it’s not until Nyx finds herself at the Pit, Manhattan’s hottest nightclub for paranorms, that she understands what she’s really up against – it looks like Master Vampire Volod has a plan and the Sprites are in on it.
Coming out November 30, 2010.

Encyclopedia of the Vampire: The Living Dead in Myth, Legend, and Popular Culture by S. T. Joshi and John Edgar Browning
This is another vampire encyclopedia in a long list of vampire encyclopedias. It covers vampires in literature, film, and television, in folklore, and in world culture. As a vampire encyclopedia addict, I’ll probably add this to my already huge collection.
Coming out November 30, 2010.

So dear readers, which books will you be reading this November? I’m planning on picking up a copy of The Greyfriar. What about you?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  2. I will read next Romancing the vampire by David J Skal. It is actually published 2009, but I just found it! This book sounds great fun – vampires in folklore, fiction and film, from ancient times to Twilight and lot of pictures, posters, maps and other stuff, which you can take away if you want! Cover is wonderful, too – photo of Christopher Lee and a blonde – Veronica Carlson from Dracula has risen from the grave or Linda Hayden from Taste the blood of Dracula – with gorgeous red roses! Now I just have to wait that it comes in the post… p
