In addition to the traditional fanged vampires, Datlow presents stories about the leeching of emotion, the draining of the soul, and other dark deeds of predation and exploitation, infestation, and evisceration…tales of life essence, literal or metaphorical, stolen.

  6. cant wait for slayer chronicles, although the description seems a trifle inconcistent with the original. when it says “most powerful slayer”. ya uh that might have been helpful with em and co. it also sounds repetitive. vlad was most powerful, sure, but another pravus-like being is too much. but whatver. i guess ill have to read it first

  7. Mark of the Rose: The Tudor Vampire Chronicles by Kate Pearce
Isle of Night: The Watchers by Veronica Wolff

These are the two I am looking forward to the most, they sound really interesting & not the usual vampire-ish story you imagine in todays world. (If that makes any sense how I phrased it ;P)

  9. habahabhaa WHAAAATTT???? Palace of the Damned by Darren Shan comes out the 29th in America. The whole series is based upon vampires. This is probably my most anticipated book this year. I hate to say this but it’s kind of a disappointment to not see it up here. TT
