Vampire Diaries’ Courtney Ford Joins True Blood

Courtney Ford must really love vampires. Shortly after appearing in The Vampire Diaries (she played Vanessa Monroe, the chick that told them about the sun and moon curse) she’s already moving on to some new blood-suckers. That’s right readers, Courtney has landed a new role on HBO’s True Blood! Which is great, because after the naughty nude scenes she’s done in the past she’ll fit right in with the cast of True Blood. Yay nudeness!

Reports are saying that Courtney Ford will be playing Portia Bellefleur, the sister of Andy. Portia is said to be “a classic Southern beauty who runs her own law practice.” In The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris she is a lawyer who is proud of her family’s once wealthy and distinguished heritage, which has been ruined over the years. SPOILERS! She also dates Bill in the books.

I can’t help but wonder if this new cast member will be able to get True Blood fans excited again. Lots of us have been trashing True Blood lately. Compared to the first two seasons, the writing and storyline was total crap in season three and it has disappointed a lot of viewers (myself included).

I’m sure some folks are happy to have Portia added to the True Blood list, but personally I think there are far too many characters as it is and that the writers should try to concentrate on improving the current storylines, rather than adding even more to the mess.

But what do you guys think? Do you think that instead of adding more random drama to the show, they should instead focus on making a solid story? I mean, come on, you’ve got to admit that season three was awful. The entire season went no where, there was no real plot and nothing moved forward. But that’s just me, what are your thoughts on the last season and your hopes for the next one?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
