Vampire Diaries’ Star On Doing A Musical Episode

The gorgeous Ian Somerhalder, better known as Damon from the Vampire Diaries, recently did an interview with MTV in which he admitted that he would love to do a musical episode. He also gave his fans all sorts of other goodies, like what he thinks of his Sexy Beast win and how the show’s cast gets along with on another.

First off was a fan question: Would he consider doing a musical episode? As a fan of the Buffy musical episode, I would LOVE to see Damon singing and dancing.

“I would do a musical episode in a heartbeat!” Ian exclaimed, then revealed that one of his fellow cast mates has a secret talent that would be perfect for a musical. “Zach Roerig [who plays Matt] is a tap dancer,” he said. “Who would’ve thought?”

But what about Damon? What exactly would his role in the musical be?

“I don’t know… Damon would be more like the barber of Fleet Street (Sweeney Todd). He would be the guy who sings as he cuts people’s arms off.” he said. “Full, Johnny Depp style.”

The interviewer then mentioned his “Sexy Beast” win, from the contest Entertainment Weekly held in where the fans voted for the Sexiest Beast (he beat out Edward Cullen wooo).

“I just walk around the set growling now,” he joked, also saying that he got “a lot” of teasing from his fellow cast members for the title. “That was pretty awesome,” he said. “That was a trip.”

On that note, when asked how about how the Vampire Diaries cast, Ian said that everyone gets along really well.

Paul [Wesley] and I just pretty much make fun of each other all day,” he said. “Nina [Dobrev] pretty much makes fun of the two of us all day.”

You may wonder if any of this teasing had lead to any nicknames?

“We don’t necessarily have nicknames [for each other], if there are nicknames, they’re not very PG-13 or even 17… Yeah, I’ll leave those silent.”

Haha Ian rocks! To read the full interview go HERE.
