Vampire Video Games You Never Knew Existed: Part 2

I told you I’d be coming back with more! Not too long ago I wrote about some of the lesser known vampire video games out there, and since there are so many I’m back again to share some more gaming goodness with you. So, here’s a look at some fang-filled games out there, if you have played any of them let us know in a comment below what you thought.

Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand
I can’t believe I have never heard of this game! It was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003 and includes a photometric light sensor that measures the amount of sunlight/UV rays exposed to it. You see, the player takes the role of Django, a vampire hunter, who uses a weapon called the “Gun Del Sol” (Solar Gun), which fires bolts of sunlight at enemies. That’s where the attachment comes in, because to charge Django’s gun you actually have to take the game outside in the daytime. If your gun runs out of light reserves and there is no sunlight available, then you’re screwed and have to avoid enemies. So awesome!

Countdown Vampires
This one is a survival horror game for the PlayStation that has often been compared to the earlier Resident Evil games. The game follows Keith J. Snyder, who is assigned as a bodyguard for several VIPs who were key to the inauguration of a new horror-themed casino, the Desert Moon. But all hell breaks loose when a fire brakes out and a mysterious black liquid started to pour out of the fire sprinklers, turning the vast majority of the people into vampires that proceeded to devour the remaining survivors. The player’s job it to find their way out of the casino while saving as many people as possible.

Ghost House
This was a single-player, side-scrolling horror-action game that published by SEGA and released in 1986 for the Master System. It’s pretty much your classic side-scrolling punch ‘em game. You play a vampire hunter and your role is to kill five vampires, known as “Draculas.”

And those are a few vampire games you never knew existed (maybe). I really wish I never had traded in my Gameboy Advance, I so want to play Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand!
