Visit Camp Blood Again

I don’t get tired of writing about Jason Voorhees. The FRIDAY THE 13th movies were just too big a part of my childhood. I love them, and their hockey-mask-wearing star, too much for that. (No surprise to regular followers of this site.) The lumbering (sometimes) hulking (unless you count FRIDAY THE 13TH Part 2, where Jason was downright anemic) homicidal (always) antihero is properly undead, and that qualifies him for coverage here on this site. (As much as I’d love to, I can’t justify writing about Leatherface here, since big L is not supernatural in nature. Fortunately I can write about him over at our sister site WEREWOLVES.COM because of the cannibalism connection.)

Anyway, tickets are now on sale for a visit and celebration of all things FRIDAY THE 13TH at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick, New Jersey, which served as the filming location for the original FRIDAY THE 13TH. I’m glad to see them holding the event again this year, yet another sign that we’re coming out of this damn pandemic and returning to some semblance of normalcy. I’ve never been to the Camp Blood in New Jersey. I *have* been to the one in Alabama. And not too long ago I visited the one in Georgia. Two out of three ain’t bad, as Meatloaf says, right?
