Vladislav! Baby don’t hurt me!
If you do not “do” Facebook, create a Facebook account for yourself, just so you can watch this video. It’s totally worth it. It’s hysterical. I laughed until my ribs hurt. My friend Shannon alerted me to it, suggesting that I pass it along to you, all my faithful followers, and so that it what I am doing. You will thank me, and you will thank Shannon. You are welcome. (Hell, forget about Facebook. I just found the video on Youtube!)
I don’t even particularly like the song. “What is love?” by Haddaway. I remember when it first came out back in the 90s, the local radio stations would play it every fifteen minutes. I grew to despise it. The Butabi Brothers redeemed it a little bit when they danced to it in A NIGHT AT THE ROXBURY and on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. But this, THIS is genius. Having the guys on the stakes doing the singing–brilliant! I wonder what the dark prince would think of this. I bet he’d dig on it, if he could understand the language.
You all, of course, did know that “Vlad” was short for “Vladislav,” right? And that Dracula’s real name was Vladislav ( or Vladislaus) Basarab. You knew that, right? (He did go by “Dracula,” though.)
