It is no surprise that the love for vampires can be found all over the world, I mean, they’re universally awesome. Every country has their own hit books, movies and shows – in English speaking countries the most popular vampire TV shows are The Vampire Diaries, Being Human and True Blood, but other countries have entirely different vampire obsessions, like Japan. Over there they have RH Plus, a vampire drama based on a manga of the same name.
RH Plus follows the daily lives of four natural born vampires that live together and attempt to be a real family. Kiyoi is the eldest and takes care of the others, Masakazu is a college student who gets information on criminal activities, and Ageha and Makoto both go to high-school and usually wind up helping Masakazu whether they really want to or not. The four of these vampires fight crime when the cops are unwilling or unable to do so themselves. Along for the ride is Ami, a strange and bossy girl that shows up periodically just to keep things interesting. The series is based off of a shounen-ai manga published in B’s Log.
There are only 13 episodes since the show just ran from January 2008 to March 2008.
Since this is a Japanese show and well, I don’t speak Japanese, finding information on RH Plus is a bit difficult (Google translate fails). But according to the few English reviews on could find on the show and manga, RH Plus is an incredible drama full of heart-wrenching storylines and even a few comedic moments.
You can check out the official RH Plus website HERE, sadly, you can’t read it unless you know Japanese. However, if you actually want to watch the show and don’t mind reading subtitles, you can go HERE and watch RH Plus with English subs.
If anyone has watched the show, or has more info on it, please feel free to share it with the rest of us!
